We did the Brazilian side of Iguacu Falls before the Argentine side and feel this was a wise choice. The one way walk along the 1.5 km trail was interesting and we saw monkeys, butterflies and hummi… Full review by gniteIrene

Hi I’m not sure about the Argentinian side we were on the Brazilian side. I don’t know about bus services we did most of our travelling by car. Crossing the border from Paraguay to Brazil took about 1 hour, it’s a very congested crossing. At first it seems that one will take hours to get through, but everything happens quicker than one expects. Once at the falls we used a internal bus service, which was lovely. Be prepared too walk a lot, and if you are using a decent camera take measures to protect it from the spray emitting from the falls. They sell cheap plastic macks on site which you’ll need if want too keep dry. I was so hot I didn’t bother and I got soaking wet, but it was about 35 degrees c so it was lovely. The only down side was I use a decent camera so with no protection I couldn’t take pictures of the falls close up. It was a great trip if you’re thinking of going it’s well worth the visit, go and enjoy yourselves. BRILLIANT!
Q:
Do we still need to pay a hefty reciprocal fee for crossing into Argentina from Brazil if holding US passport?
A:
I found out 1) with US passport must still pay, and 2) it's a little less than before but still over $100 pp. Post-Olympics the charge is reinstated.

Hello! I am planning to take early bus to Asuncion from Foz or CDE. Which one is better to stay at? Speaking of, I will need a hotel or hostel - cheaper the better - can you recommend? Can I take a bus from either to CDE in the morning for the bus to assuncion or taxi is ok? How safe is CDE at night (if taking a night bus from there). Thx!

I suggest you take a bus from Foz to Asuncion. If think it's really better to go there. About hostels.... sorrry! I must've to recommend the Che Lagarto, because I know it's close to the center. But, I have no idea around the price of reservations. And I really don't recommend stay at night in both places (CDE and FOZ), because there's a few people on streets, you spend too much time waiting the bus service and it's dangerous. I think the taxi service is better even if you want save money.
