According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Texans running back Joe Mixon will miss "an extended period of time" while dealing with a foot injury. Mixon had already been on the Texans' non-football injury list to start training camp, but Saturday's report added clarity to a potential timeline for the running back's return.

But as with any football injury update, one man's pain is another man's gain. And in this case, the Houston Texans have an intriguing backup for Mixon: Nick Chubb. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Saturday that Mixon "is expected to be out an extended period of time with a frustrating foot injury."
