The longest-serving Oklahoma House Speaker in the Sooner State’s history has announced his candidacy for Oklahoma Governor. “America is the greatest nation known to mankind,” McCall’s announcement letter read.

Former House Speaker Charles McCall, a Republican from Atoka, announced Tuesday that he, too, is seeking the Republican nomination for governor. McCall joins Attorney General Gentner Drummond and Leisa Mitchell Haynes, a former city manager and state employee, in the race.

His statement comes about a week after the only other candidate to announce, Attorney General Gentner Drummond, attacked Gov. Kevin Stitt for having betrayed then-candidate Donald Trump by endorsing Florida Gov.
