The food drive comes as some federal employees who have missed one full paycheck and a partial paycheck during the shutdown are tightening their belts.

Governor Wes Moore released $62 million in state funding Monday to ensure Marylanders receive full November SNAP benefits, his office announced.

According to the Evers admin, funds became available at midnight and a total of about $104.4 million was issued for 337,137 households.
