FAIRBAULT, Minn. -- Several tornadoes struck southern Minnesota as severe storms packing powerful winds and heavy rain left a trail of destruction overnight, the National Weather Service said Friday.

Update as of 11:50 p.m.: All warning and watches for the area have expired. Argus Leader reporters will start providing updates about storm damage July 29 for Lincoln County and Minnehaha County.
