President Donald Trump dismissed federal workers who have been on the job for less than a year as the president continues to reshape the federal workforce

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's administration began a mass firing of federal workers Thursday. Office of Personnel Management officials met with agency leaders and advised them to dismiss probationary employees, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The latest cuts focus on roughly 200,000 employees classified as probationary workers, including staffers at the Forest Service and the Energy Department.
