Rams, NFL and the Lions
Digest more
If you look at run success rate and explosive play run rate, the Rams are head-and-shoulders better than the rest of the NFL. Just look at this chart from TruMedia, compiled by Fantasy Life's Ian Hartitz: According to Pro Football Reference, Williams and Corum rank Nos. 1 and 2 in run success rate at 65.9% and 59.8%, respectively.
The Rams are headed to the NFL playoffs, as they made sure of that with a win over the Lions on Sunday at home.
The Detroit Lions, led by quarterback Jared Goff, face the Los Angeles Rams, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
The Lions went down the field and scored a touchdown to make it a one-possession game on a David Montgomery touchdown. Emmanuel Forbes Jr. was called for pass interference in the end zone on fourth down, setting up Montgomery's score on the next play.
A 52-yard catch-and-run by St. Brown following the kickoff immediately put the Lions in Rams territory. This time, the Lions reached the endzone via an eight-yard touchdown pass from Goff to St. Brown to regain the lead 17-14 with 6:12 to go in the first half.
Adams aggravated his hamstring injury in last Sunday's 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions, so the likelihood of him playing four days later should be quite slim. However, Rams head coach Sean McVay has left open the possibility of the six-time Pro Bowler suiting up in Seattle.
Between the end of the second quarter through the third, the Rams scored 20 unanswered points to comeback and steal the win from the Lions. The Rams’ defensive front came alive in the second half and wrecked havoc on the Lions’ interior offensive line.
