Heavy rain is expected to move through Tuesday night, with more downpours expected on Wednesday. A flood watch is in effect through Thursday morning and was expanded Tuesday afternoon to include much of north Georgia.

Residents of the north metro Atlanta suburbs and North Georgia were greeted with a flood watch Tuesday in anticipation of heavy rainfall expected over the next 48 hours.
