As a winter storm hits the D.C. area bringing snow and some sleet, a planned snowball fight on the National Mall has been canceled.

The snowballs were expected to start flying at 9 a.m. on Sunday on the North lawn of the Washington Monument near the intersection of 15th Street and Constitution Ave. But organizers decided to cancel the event due to sleet conditions.

Oklahomans of all ages took advantage of winter weather turning Scissortail Park into a hub for snowball fights, sledding, and winter fun.

Residents at The Homestead Senior Living recently proved that a little mischief goes a long way toward fun and community spirit. With smiles, laughter, and carefully planned “sneak attacks,” residents surprised employees with a playful fake snowball fight that quickly became the highlight of the day.

The Wakeeney Police Department, Trego Sherrif Office, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, and Kansas Highway Patrol showed up at a snowball fight challenge at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital-Long Term Care.
