Three big Saudi oil tankers left the Gulf through the Hormuz Strait on Thursday, maritime trackers said, after leaders vowed to reopen the route under an agreement to end the US-Iran war.
The initiative will enable hundreds of ships with 11,000 seafarers stranded in the Persian Gulf to sail through Hormuz, the International Maritime Organization said.
Data from maritime intelligence firm Kpler shows that nearly 62% of tankers and cargo vessels sailing from the Persian Gulf to India turned off their transponders while crossing the strait.
