The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the largest flag football tournament in the country at the AdventHealth Training Center

The Bucs have long been an advocate for growing the sport of flag football with Florida teens. For seven seasons, the NFL team has hosted a preseason classic that brings in girls teams from around the state, and the Bucs can boast that it is the largest girls flag football tournament in the country.

Sunlake High School’s girls flag football team will play its very first game in a pre-season matchup on Monday, ahead of the team’s inaugural season this month.

The Houston Texans launched their girls' flag football program in the Houston area in 2023 to help "create equitable opportunities for young female athletes." They now plan to bring the program to two Austin-area school districts.
