The blast caused an incinerator shaft leading down to a boiler room inside the building to collapse, according to Fire Department officials.

Morning commuters in New York’s Bronx were jolted on Wednesday when part of a 20-storey public housing building suddenly collapsed, leaving one corner of the structure reduced to rubble.

Officials said no injuries were reported after the incident at 205 Alexander Ave., though fire rescue operations were continuing.
