Blade Tidwell is getting the chance he has craved. Tidwell will start the game, and pitching is what he’s best equipped to do. The fourth-year minor leaguer had been willing to crack into the majors any other way, though, and had tried lobbying his way to the big leagues, including through a fun, memorable plea to VP of pitching Eric Jagers.

Blade Tidwell will be called up by the New York Mets to make his major league debut as the starter Sunday at the St. Louis Cardinals.
