The defense said in the motion that one piece of evidence withheld in the first trial is a video clip showing someone approaching the taillight of Read's SUV while it entered an area at the Canton Police Station on Jan. 29, 2022. Prosecutors didn't provide the defense with that footage until January 2025.

The countdown is on to Karen Read's retrial next month, and there are several hearings on the agenda this week.

The Karen Read case is back in a Dedham, Massachusetts courtroom on Tuesday for the first time since a contentious hearing last week and a motion to dismiss that was later filed by the defense team.
