Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds skipped the 2025 Met Gala on Monday, May 5, in New York City. A source previously told PEOPLE the couple weren't planning to attend the annual event.

Some of the Met Gala's biggest style icons including Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker among others were missing Monday night.

Lively, known for her elegant and glamorous fashion choices at the annual event, has been attending the Met Gala since 2008. The last time Lively attended in 2022, she was one of four co-chairs who oversaw the event, alongside husband Ryan Reynolds, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Regina King.
