Qatar is set to provide Syria with $29 million monthly for three months that can be extended to pay salaries, the Syrian finance minister said in a statement on Wednesday.
In a statement published on Tuesday evening on its official account on (X) platform, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared, “The State of Qatar welcomes the friendly United States President’s intent to lift sanctions on the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic and considers it a step toward supporting stability in Syria.”
The remains of 30 people believed to have been killed by the militant Islamic State group have been found in a remote Syrian town in a search led by Qatari search teams along with the FBI.
