New details were released Friday in a case that rocked Midcoast Maine and got national attention: the murder of a paddleboarder more than two weeks ago.

What began as a simple paddleboarding trip ended with a homicide investigation, a community on edge and a 17-year-old charged with murder.

Officials said city investigators were called to the scene and used video surveillance and statements from witnesses to identify the suspect.
