Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs lost Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday so the week was already tough for the star quarterback. And then, on Friday, his mother, Randi Mahomes, announced that her father, Randy Martin — Patrick’s grandfather — has died.

The Philadelphia Eagles dominated Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl Sunday night, picking off Mahomes twice and storming out to a 24-0 first-half lead thanks to rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean’s pick-six on his 22nd birthday.

The Eagles' defense was all over Mahomes throughout the game, racking up six sacks against him and forcing two interceptions and a fumble. They held the Chiefs to just six points up until the 2:54-mark of the fourth quarter, after which Kansas City tacked on a pair of garbage time touchdowns.
