West Haven police said Officer Richard Naccarato was placed on leave and charged with assault after punching a man 18 times in the head during an incident on July 1 outside of a bar.

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Body camera footage from a July arrest shows a West Haven police officer punching a man 18 times in the head. The incident led to second-degree assault charges against Officer Richard Naccarato in connection with the July 1 arrest of Kevin Zollo outside JR’s Bar & Grill.
