It's been an offseason to forget for the Toronto Blue Jays, who have missed out on nearly every big-name free agent they've targeted.

The Dodgers look like a team set up for success for the foreseeable future, with a lineup that includes Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Teoscar Hernández and two-way star Ohtani. Sasaki could join a starting rotation that includes Ohtani, Yamamoto, two-time Cy Young award winner Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Tony Gonsolin.

Toronto acquired $2 million in international signing bonus pool allocation from the Cleveland Guardians that could be used in its pursuit of Japanese pitcher Roki Sasaki as part of a trade that also brought underperforming outfielder Myles Straw to the Blue Jays.

The Japanese phenom will join countrymen Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in blue, but this addition isn’t about the Dodgers bludgeoning the rest of the sport with their financial might.
