NBA Trade Rumors: Knicks and Lakers made big pitches for Walker Kessler
According to Marc Stein, the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers tried hard for Walker Kessler at the trade deadline. From Marc Stein’s substack: League sources say that the Knicks were right there with the Lakers in their determination before the trade deadline to try to convince Utah to engage in meaningful Walker Kessler trade talks.
Kessler has cemented his spot in the Jazz's future endeavors. He's spent his third season averaging 11.4 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists on a league-best 72.5% shooting from the field. It's an impressive third-year jump for the 23-year-old, and Utah wants to see more from him.
Keegan Murray scored a season-high 26 points to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 118-101 victory over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Kessler is the third player to go 10-for-10 from the floor in an NBA game this season, joining the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Jarrett Allen and the Chicago Bulls’ Mata Buzelis. Allen was 10-for-10 in a 135-116 victory over the Washington Wizards on Oct. 26, and Buzelis went 10-for-10 in a 133-124 victory over the Miami Heat on Feb. 4.
