Parents began reporting issues with their online ballots in the early morning, including candidates who had withdrawn their names.

The last contested general election in 2021 on Staten Island’s South Shore saw Borelli, a Republican, best Democrat Oivia Drabczyk after 40,905 voters had their ballots counted. The last contested special election in 2007 saw Vincent Ignizio defeat Manny Inamorato after nearly 5,700 votes were counted.

Poll sites, which can be found on the Board of Election website, will be open Monday, and Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; on Wednesday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Election Day, Tuesday, April 29, will see poll sites opened from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The crowded field is a rarity for the borough, sometimes called York New Salem for postal reasons since there is another New Salem in Pennsylvania.

Etobicoke is a federal riding located in Ontario. This riding is currently represented by Liberal MP Ahmed Hussen who first took office in 2015. Hussen collected 21,644 votes, winning 56.12 per cent of the vote in the 2021 federal election.
