Newly released body camera footage shows the moments that two Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies rescue a 100-year-old woman trapped inside of her elderly living center in Altadena as the Eaton Fire raged nearby.

A man armed with a machete was fatally shot by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy in Paramount. The LA County Sheriff's Department said the shooting took place around 12:15 a.m. on the 15000 block of Paramount Boulevard in the parking lot of the Paramount sheriff's station.

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,448 acres after being active for 20 days. A crew of 1,043 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 94% of the fire by Monday afternoon. The blaze's cause remains under investigation.
