Israel demanded answers from Madrid over the treatment of the activists, days after Spain summoned Israel’s representative over Ben-Gvir’s controversial video taunting detained flotilla members.

The chargé d’affaires of the Spanish embassy in Israel was summoned for a clarification meeting following videos that showed violence by the Spanish police against activists of the flotilla to Gaza.

The Israeli government on Thursday released and deported hundreds of flotilla activists who attempted to breach Israel's naval blockade of Gaza. Anger abroad over the activists' treatment prompted several countries to summon Israeli envoys to hear their concerns.
