Feds announced criminal charges against three people who allegedly falsely claimed their properties were destroyed in the Eaton and Palisades wildfires in order to receive tens of thousands of dollars.

A Lakewood, a Paramount and a Texas resident face charges for allegedly filing false claims with two illegally receiving wildfire-disaster funds designed for those who lost homes and other property in the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires in January,

A new wildfire was reported today at 11:52 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. At this time, the containment status is unknown and the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
