The disappointment in the iPhone fanbase surrounding this omission must have been clear to Apple, as the company has apparently given a statement about the iPhone 16e’s lack of MagSafe (which, for reference, has been standard on all numbered iPhones since 2020’s iPhone 12 series).

When Apple announced the iPhone 16e it said that while it did support wireless charging, it would not support MagSafe.

You can’t add actual MagSafe to an iPhone 16e, but you can add the ring of magnets that helps align charging coils and hold your phone onto charging stands and car phone mounts.

Apple has responded to iPhone 16e critics, and says that engineering choices like a lack of MagSafe that make the device unappealing to the tech-savvy don't matter to the larger market.

Apple has introduced the iPhone 16e as its most affordable iPhone yet, priced at Rs 59,900 for the 128GB model. While it offers the latest A18 chip and Apple Intelligence, it lacks MagSafe and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) to keep costs down.
