New details were released Friday in a case that rocked Midcoast Maine and got national attention: the murder of a paddleboarder more than two weeks ago.

Deven Young is the 17-year-old suspect accused of the murder of Union, ME, paddleboarder Sunshine Stewart. Young is from Frankfort, ME, and is 17-years-old, according to WMTW-TV. Stewart was found deceased at Crawford Pond on July 2,

The Maine Attorney General’s Office confirmed to WABI on Monday that they have filed a motion to try Deven Young, 17, of Frankfort, as an adult for the murder of Sunshine Stewart, 48.

As the court process moves forward, it's unclear whether the Attorney General's Office will request that Deven Young be tried as an adult.
