PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland (AP) — Scottie Scheffler began his bid for the third leg of the career Grand Slam on Sunday, taking a four-shot lead into the final round of the British Open at Royal Portrush.
Scottie Scheffler earned his 17th career PGA Tour win by claiming The Open Championship at Royal Portrush, his second major championship of the year. It marked Scheffler's third leg of the career grand slam after winning the second in May at Quail Hollow in the PGA Championship.
Researchers at the PGA Tour discovered that Scheffler and Woods each went 1,197 days between winning their first and fourth majors.
