Even with Triston Casas done for the season, we still haven’t seen the best version of the Red Sox lineup yet.

The Red Sox announced Sunday that Casas had suffered a ruptured patellar tendon during a Friday win over the Minnesota Twins. Casas, who was limited to 63 games in 2023 after suffering torn cartilage in his rib cage, had batted .182 with three home runs and 11 RBIs in his first 29 games of the 2024 season.

Last year, to its detriment, Boston put together a patchwork platoon to replace Casas. This time around, the franchise needs to act fast.
