Bruce Mendenhall on Monday was ordered to serve 65 years in prison after being found guilty of murder last month in the killing of Carma Purpura, whose body was found on the side of a Kentucky highway more than four years after she was last seen at a south Indianapolis truck stop.

Bruce Mendenhall, also known as the “Truck Stop Serial Killer” was sentenced to an additional 65 years in prison for the July 2007 murder of Carma Purpura of Indianapolis. Mendenhall is already serving two life sentences in Tennessee for a pair of murders,

Bruce Mendenhall was sentenced to 65 years in the Indiana Department of Correction in relation to this case, the maximum sentence offered. This sentence will run consecutive with the other cases he is currently serving time for.
