Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse told reporters on Saturday prior to the team's game against the Golden State Warriors that star big man Joel Embiid did not suffer a setback before the team shut him down for the remainder of the season due to a lingering left knee injury.

The team had previously said that Embiid, who only played 19 games, this season wouldn’t require surgery and could finish the season.
