ESPN's Ben Solak noted that stats from Justin Fields' Bears tenure may indicate how Aaron Glenn and Tanner Engstrand will attempt to maximize his potential later this year.

First and foremost, Fields is a tremendous athlete and is well-built at 6-foot-3, 227 pounds. Secondly, the Jets’ offensive line projects to be much better in 2025 than it was a season ago.

Fields is making $3.2 million this season but has a fifth-year option for 2025 at $25.7 million. Several teams made deals for backup quarterbacks, but it’s unknown which clubs wanted Fields.

If Fields makes a leap this season, starting with the opener Sunday against the rival Packers, he could earn a contract extension worth around $100 million. If not, he could be replaced.
