Tropical Storm Chantal was downgraded to a depression Sunday but raised concerns of possible flash flooding as it makes its way into central and eastern North Carolina.

The NWS issued a flood watch for central North Carolina, including Raleigh, due to heavy rain from Tropical Storm Chantal.

Chantal continues northward passing to our east, with little to no impact for most of the Midlands. However, the extreme northeastern corner of the Midlands may encounter a locally heavy downpour and gusty winds into early afternoon.
