The deadly flooding earlier this week forced the Ruidoso Downs racetrack to move its horses to Albuquerque for a second year in a row.

Flash flooding hit Ruidoso, New Mexico, and caused widespread damage and claimed the lives for three people. As flash flooding began, Jesus Figueroa, a viewer of sister station KOAT, filmed a wall of water flowing down the Rio Ruidoso as the flash flood began.
Storm reports from the National Weather Service office in Albuquerque indicate floodwaters have reached homes and several roads throughout Ruidoso are covered with water.
"Nothing can prepare you for coming into a disaster zone and looking through the bodies of small children and my dad," Timmy Feagin told KOAT.
