We caught up with our friend, Mitch Greenhill, last week at the Folk Alliance International conference. Mitch is the brilliant guitarist who accompanies Rosalie Sorrells on our latest release of Bear's Sonic Journals. As Doc Watson's manager, Mitch was instrumental in helping us produce our Doc & Merle Watson release, the very first Chapter in the Bear's Sonic Journals series. It was nice to discover several years later that Bear had recorded Mitch's playing on that magical night at the Berkeley

Magic & Mayhem Update: We just preserved the 1,200th reel in Bear's archive, which turned out to be comedian Don Novello as Father Guido Sarducci, interviewing Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann for a series of segments intended to air during the broadcast of the Grateful Dead's 1985 New Year's Eve concert.
