Bill Walsh drafted running back Roger Craig, who had a “reputation of being unable to catch the ball when he was in college, but that was because Nebraska had a run-oriented offense and never threw to the backs.” It wasn’t that he couldn’t catch the ball; he simply hadn’t been given the opportunity.
