On May 10, 2003, Tiësto performed at the GelreDome for 25,000 people, playing an 8-hour solo set, the first time a DJ ever filled a stadium alone. The event, Tiësto in Concert, was filmed and released on DVD, reaching millions worldwide. A year later, that performance led to him being invited to play at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics, making him the first DJ to do so. That night redefined what a DJ could be, not just playing music, but creating a full-scale stadium experience.
