In a lecture series for Muslim converts, Shaykh Abdullah Hakim Quick recently attempted to explain the emergence of early Christianity by saying that it was a copied invention from Roman Mithriac paganism. Unfortunately this is just internet-level conspiracy nonsense and has no place in the discourse from someone like the Shaykh, who actually has formal historical training.
