Hits Behind Glass on Instagram: "Christina Aguilera recorded „What a Girl Wants“ in 1998 at Bananaboat Studios in Burbank, California. Originally written as „What a Girl Needs“ by Shelly Peiken and Guy Roche, the song was first recorded by French singer Ophélie Winter before being reworked for Aguilera’s debut album. Ron Fair of RCA suggested changing „needs“ to „wants“ to make the song sound more confident. The lyrics were inspired by Peiken’s personal experience of moving to Los Angeles and ap
