More than 30% of the population on Panamá identifies as Afro descended, which is a lot! But it’s true it might not feel like there are a ton of Black owned restaurants, especially in the more touristy areas. But I did visit a few popular spots while I was there and spoke to @javierwallace512 of @afrolatinotravel about why there might not be as many restaurants rising to the same level of notice and success as non-Black owned restaurants.
